About Aaron

Aaron Anders has been taking photographs since he was 10 years old. His first published photograph was in the Kansas Bankers Magazine at the age of 11. Aaron acquired started photograph in 4-H. After 10 years of experience he became Photo Editor at Chapman High School for two years, creating Fighting Irish Photography, a business to help the journalism department. After high school, he became a photographer for Pittsburg State Universities newspaper the Collegio. A year later he became Photo Editor of the Collegio for the remaining three years of college.  Aaron is currently a photojournalist for the Salina Journal. His work has been published on the Associated Press, Farm Progress, and the High Plains Journal.

Aaron has a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Communications Management with minors in Photojournalism and Business Administration. He took photographs during the Chapman tornado making a DVD Slideshow raising over $8,800 for his alma mater.
Some of his photographs were used by the Associated Press and were viewed all over the world. Aaron has won many awards: 2-year Photojournalism Student of the Year at Pittsburg State, 1st place in the Kansas Associated Collegiate Press Contest, 1st KU Medical Center Department of Aging Contest, and top 36 at the Kansas State Fair.

 

 

Aaron is an active member of the
KPPA (Kansas Professional Photographers Association)
and the Great Plains Nature Photographers.
